Tutorial 56 | Drawing pivot points that occurred yesterday, today

Welcome to tutorial 56 in this series of tutorials designed to help you learn TradeStation EasyLanguage.

The tutorial program looks for pivots, stores them in an array and plots them the following day. The idea is that turning points might commonly occur at a specific time of day. Potentially, the program could be extended to compare the times that turning points occur over several previous days.

This tutorial demonstrates the creation of a show me study using TradeStation 9.0. It discusses the creation of arrays and the issues associated with not being able to confirm a pivot until several bars after it has occurred.

Volume Ratio lines drawn on 1 minute @ES chart The image on the right shows the program applied to a 15 minute @ES (S&P e-mini) chart.

The Showme dots occur at times when there was a pivot point the previous day.

A video below explains the tutorial in detail.
