Tutorial 82 | Different ways of using a condition

In tutorial 82 I explain the difference between the following syntax a simple pivot example.

Condition1 = ( Value1 = 1 );

If Value1 = 1 then Condition1 = TRUE;

It may seem to be a trivial example, but using the incorrect syntax in a particular case would be a bad idea.

In the first example (Condition1 = ( Value1 = 1 );), condition1 is set to true when Value1 = 1. If Value1 is not equal to 1 then Condition1 is set to false. This is re-evaluated on each bar.

In the second example (If Value1 = 1 then Condition1 = TRUE;) condition1 is set to true when Value1 is equal to 1 and then remains true because there is nothing else in the program to set it back to false. You might use this sort of syntax with a bar counter to keep condition1 equal to true for a certain number of bars, and then set it to false.
